The Brain Dead x Converse Chuck 70 Hi “Black” is yet another popular collaboration between the Los Angeles based streetwear imprint and Converse. Brain Dead’s affinity for the all-American Chuck Taylor All Star silhouette runs deep as evidenced by the brand’s two “Animal Print” colorways from 2020. Here, the subversive streetwear brand takes a more modest approach to design by putting its spin on the model’s timeless “Black” colorway. A durable black canvas material forms the upper of the shoe. White contrast stitching outlines the silver hardware, the forefoot, and the collar. Brain Dead’s branding is embossed along the cream colored foxing that spans the entire shoe. Elsewhere, the brand’s signature “head” logo appears on the lateral side and Converse Chuck Taylor detailing on the medial side of the shoe. Like Brain Dead’s previous collaborations on the Chuck 70, the “Black” features a stacked midsole, this time with misaligned black pinstripes. Release date: November 17, 2020.
